Deborah Berioli returned to the position of Music Director in July of 2007 after a two year contract performing leading operatic roles with Opera San Jose in San Jose, California. She received her formal musical training at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey where she majored in vocal performance and minored in organ studies. She has served as music director for several religious denominations over the course of her twenty four years of experience in church music. Her professional performance career includes appearances in Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, Des Moines Metro Opera, Sarasota Opera, New Jersey State Opera, Opera San Jose, the Midsummer Mozart Festival, the Redwood Symphony, Symphony Santa Cruz and our own Venice Symphony, among others. Since her return to Venice she has initiated the Venice Performing Arts Series, the premier season of 2007-2008 will be held at UUCOV. Deborah is pleased to be back and able to contribute to UUCOV by providing inspiring musical leadership to its members.
